Harmony Award Nomination Form

The Harmony Award was established to recognize individuals, businesses and/or organizations in our community who have actively promoted the social equality of all cultures and who have made an outstanding contribution, beyond the everyday work or business responsibilities, to encourage and build a community that is multi-racial, multi-ethnic and multi-faith.

Eligibility:
The award is open to individuals, businesses and or organizations in the Windsor – Essex Community.

Criteria:
The Award is for outstanding contribution and dedication to the social equality of all cultural and to building a harmonious multicultural, multiracial community. Significant consideration will be given to nominees who have implemented innovative strategies and activities to support and encourage a harmonious society in Windsor and Essex County.

Of the criteria listed below, at a minimum, the nominations must meet the spirit of volunteerism and inclusivity criteria

Spirit of Multiculturalism

• The nominee demonstrates commitment to multiculturalism
• The nominee demonstrates the spirit of multiculturalism
Impact

• The nominee’s accomplishments have enhanced the quality of life for both newcomers and Canadian citizens
Leadership
• The nominee demonstrates leadership in helping others achieve full participation in Canadian society
• The nominee actively promotes the social equality of all
Innovation

• The nominee has implemented innovative strategies and activities to support and encourage a harmonious society in Windsor and Essex County
Commitment
• The nominee’s contribution to social equality, multiculturalism and diversity has been long-term.
