Welcome to the Community Survey for the Gilbert Northwest Redevelopment Plan! This survey is the online version of the Community Open House, which took place on May 13th, 2026. Materials and activities from the open house have been digitized into an online format to gather more community input. Your feedback is a critical component of the planning process. What is the purpose of the plan? The purpose of the plan is to unlock future development potential of Gilbert Northwest. The plan will:
  • Define Gilbert Northwest’s role and identity
  • Identify where and how change should occur
  • Ensure land use, infrastructure, and economic development are well-aligned
  • Set clear, implementable strategies
  • Provide tools, funding approaches, and a roadmap for success

Why now? Gilbert Northwest is showing early signs of transition, including aging infrastructure and development patterns, evolving market expectations, and increasing regional competition. Through bolstering existing assets, such as a strong employment base and strategic regional access, the plan will provide a proactive and flexible approach to reinvestment. As of June 2024, Gilbert Northwest is a designated redevelopment area.


What does it mean to be a designated redevelopment area? According to the Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) §36-1473, municipalities may designate a redevelopment area and declare necessity of redevelopment. Gilbert Town Council approved the Northwest Gilbert Redevelopment Area Boundary with the adoption of Resolution No. 4487 on June 18, 2024.

When will this plan be completed? The plan will be completed in Winter of 2026.
About the Survey
