Question Title

* 1. BTEC Learner Of The Year

Amisha Punter - Always keen to learn and improve, drives herself to complete assignments and helps classmates.

Frazer Earl - Consistent effort and high achievement in Criminology. His controlled assessment was one of the highest scorings and demonstrated his ability to analyse and draw conclusions.

Joe Forrest - Consistent enthusiasm about every unit of BTEC Level 2 Art and Design. He is an inspiration for other students as he is reliable, punctual and completes ISPs on time to a high standard.

Sadie Cozens - Has improved and worked consistently hard in both of her BTEC courses.

Alex Fox - Extremely diligent, has obtained wonderful grades in BTEC L3 Sport. He received rave reviews from his work placement at David Lloyd as a Tennis Coach. Achieved a Bronze medal in mixed doubles at the AoC National Championships.

Gemma Poland - Achieved fantastic grades in the BTEC L3 Sport, with all coursework and results being top of the class. Shows superb diligence and attitude towards learning also achieved a Bronze medal in mixed doubles at the AoC National Championships.

Lucy Relf - One of the top two performers in the examination of BTEC L3 Sport and achieved high grades in all coursework units. Extremely dedicated to college and her development is second to none, shown by commuting from Kent every day (getting up at 5 am for the train). Outstanding performance in Rugby, achieving National Champion twice.

Maya LeTissier - Huge commitment to move from Guernsey to pursue her dream of becoming a professional footballer with Brighton and Hove Albion. Has shown outstanding levels of work and professionalism in BTEC Sport L3. Maya has captained the England U17 side for 20 Academic days and broken into the first team at Brighton.

Ellie Hack - Model BTEC Sport and Exercise Science student, continuously producing work to the highest standard and has shown the maturity to be an academic athlete. She has represented Brighton and Hove Albion first team on several occasions and England U17 team.

* 2. A Level Learner of the Year

Henry Ayling- Consistently works to the best of his ability during all of his lessons, and displays exemplary cooperation with other students, embodying the very spirit of education.

Madeline Hulme- Very hardworking and motivated to get into the law school of their choice. She is always in the library getting work done and is very positive for the people around her.

Rose Frank- Extremely hard working. Dedicates herself to all she does outside and inside the classroom.

Charlotte Rainford- Excellent student, even though she didn't need to attend Yr12 lessons after October half-term, she has continued to come and work in the learning zone on her ISPs and revision. She has consistently worked hard to achieve her goals.

Zak Harwood- Dedicated student who always goes and above and beyond for his studies.

Sophie Ward- A hard-working, multi-arts student who produces high-grade work that is reflective and developed. Her written work is also mature and highly perceptive.

Keziah Langston- Has produced work of consistently high standard in Sociology. Her written style is fluid and demonstrates her ability to make links between different areas of Sociology.

Olivia Tomlinson- Multi-art student who has proved to be a constant inspiration in Fine Art, to her teacher and her peers. Inspiring in her work ethic and in being a successful student as well as her intelligently conceived and developed artwork.

Oscar Harris- A very delightful student. He regularly considers the welfare of the group, including making and sharing resources with the whole course. He actively seeks help when he needs it and supports others when they are in need.

Rose Lelliott- Has overcome significant issues to become a very effective learner and a much more confident person.

* 3. Most Improved Learner of the Year

Daniel Pitcher - He has shown so much improvement in Politics, his essays are masterpieces and he always is very active in class participation.

James Younger - Conscientious and hardworking student as he's worked hard to develop a project that demonstrated a depth and breadth of knowledge. He has worked assiduously to formulate an EPQ project that was structured.

Yuxin Chen - She has improved a lot in her statistics work over the year.

Ben Smithbury - Always an able historian, has added a far greater control over time management and general effort to maximise chances of exam success.

* 4. Apprentice of the Year

Alex Haffenden - Provides excellent customer service throughout the college above and beyond his role. He has completed his coursework with over four months to go and he continues to develop himself. Always enthusiastic and willing to help no matter the work load.

Kasper Ole Riches - Excellent public speaking and a role model for the college. He volunteers at Chatsmore and is very diligent in his apprenticeship. His work is always of a high standard and he has excellent attention to detail.

Chanel Jackman - She has had a difficult year but has overcome everything that has come her way. Her diligence and focus on her portfolio is commendable and she is now developing the rest of the team.

James Stoke - Students in the gym have praised him and mentioned that he is really helpful when running support sessions and in lessons. He's always busy and always polite.

Francesca Taylor - She is an awesome apprentice and helps individuals to progress, encouraging people to do the best they can. When supporting lessons, she makes them enjoyable and interesting. She is easy to converse with. She is an all round superb addition to the performing arts department.

* 5. Staff Star Award

Tina Price - Has worked for 12 years with relentless passion to create a netball programme which is inclusive, encouraging and developmental for all participants. Hundreds of children have benefited from her experience, expertise and enthusiasm. Tina is always there to support every player, rain or shine, week in week out and with a smile on her face.

Nina Alliston - Organising, monitoring and supporting health and social care students work experience for 10 years. Nina has established and maintained successful relationships with over 100 placement organisations between Brighton and Littlehampton. Nina aids students through the whole process of work experience, from the DBS check to monitoring and supporting students throughout their placement.

Nikki Nash - Written a new statistics course inline with the new specification, with no resources from the exam board and no published textbook. All students like her and she is highly dedicated to their progress. She has taken on extra students due to staffing issues and still kept up the high levels of support for all her students.

Lorrain Cummins - Has been an amazing teacher this year and supported students through their health and social care courses in every way possible. She has been dedicated and gone over and above her necessary teaching requirements in order to get students the best grades possible.

* 6. Student Star Award

Naqeeb Saide - He has outstanding contribution to the wider community through volunteering for the Hummingbird Project. He has also given a speech to parliament as part of the Kindertransport Anniversary Campaign and taken part in the Brighton festival, talking about his experience of being in the UK, challenges faced and the people who have helped him.

Lydia Rodgers - Outstanding student in both Criminology and Sociology over the past 2 years. She is dedicated and hardworking, always striving to improve the standard of her work. She has received glowing praise from Sussex Police after she undertook a weeks' worth of work experience with them.

Jade Smith - She has worked hard to overcome personal difficulties and pushed herself out of her comfort zone to improve her confidence. She has been volunteering at a local care home for the elderly and is a committed member of the Rocket Club in college.

* 7. Work Store Learner of the Year Award

Adem Yesilyurt- Received an outstanding report and personal letter of thanks from the class teacher he was working with for his work placement. He was thanked for conducting himself professionally and had a kind and gentle manner with the children.

Daniel Dore-Meads- Has been a committed Ambassador working with the Marketing and Events department since September. Dan has a positive attitude and always keen to learn new tasks to support the team. He brings his enthusiasm and commitment to all jobs given to him, he works hard and dedicates so much of his time volunteering at Marketing events – he’s a real asset to the team!
