Do you want to see your work featured in the Irish Independent 2022 calendar and take home a cash prize? We are searching for stunning photographs of local places and faces which will delight and inspire our readers throughout the new year. Whether landscapes or portraits, city streets or country retreats, we're looking for photographs which tell Ireland's stories. Whether you're a professional with years of experience and the latest equipment or you're new to photography and have just happened to take an amazing image on your phone, we want to see what you have captured on camera.

The competition will be judged by a panel of experts including the Group Head of Visuals at Mediahuis Ireland David Conachy and our team of award-winning photographers.

Our 1st place winner will have their work featured in the calendar, as well as receiving a €500 voucher.

Prize Specific Terms and Conditions
  1. The competition is to win publication of the entrant's original photography in the Irish Independent 2022 calendar, with the winning prize including a €500 One4All gift card. All winners will also receive a copy of our 2022 Calendar.
  2. To enter the competition, fill in your details on the competition form and upload your photograph.
  3. Photographs must be a minimum of 1MB, up to 16MB.
  4. The entrant must have full ownership of their submitted photograph.
  5. The entrant grants the Irish Independent all necessary rights to include the submitted photograph in the 2022 Calendar
  6. The entrant must have the consent of any individuals or the parent/guardian of any minors featured in their work for publication of the submitted photograph in the 2022 calendar.
  7. The photograph should be previously unpublished and free from any copyright restraints which might restrict the publication of the imagery by the Irish Independent.
  8. The competition runs from 16 October - 27 November 2021.
  9. Winners will be contacted by phone within 72 hours of the closing date.
  10. The winning image will be held and used by Mediahuis Ireland for use in the 2022 calendar and marketing thereof. They may also be used to promote the 2023 competition.
  11. Unsuccessful entries, including personal data and images, will be deleted 30 days after the competition closing date.
  12. Those wishing to be kept informed about similar upcoming photography competitions can opt-in to receive emails on this subject and can unsubscribe at any time.
