About Arthritis Ambassadors

Thank you for your interest in becoming an Arthritis Ambassador!

What are Arthritis Ambassadors?
Arthritis Ambassadors have the incredibly important task of raising public awareness of arthritis in their community.

The key role of Arthritis Ambassadors is to speak to community groups and organizations across Queensland about arthritis and their experience of living with arthritis. By doing this, our Arthritis Ambassadors help to raise vital public awareness about arthritis, its risk factors and its impacts.

Arthritis Ambassadors will be required to commit to the program for a minimum of 1 year.

Over the course of a year it is estimated that each Ambassador will give 1 to 3 presentations a month. We believe each presentation will require a time commitment of 2-3 hours (including preparation and travel time).

Presentations will be organised by Arthritis Queensland, as we receive requests for speakers. Each Ambassador will also be required to promote this service within their local community. Arthritis Queensland will train all Ambassadors to promote themselves and provide them with the necessary resources (e.g. flyers etc.).

Is being an Arthritis Ambassador right for you?
If you are a keen public speaker and ready to share your own story of living with arthritis we would love to hear from you!

Arthritis Ambassadors will be trained, supported and supplied with the resources necessary to give presentations in their local community.

We totally understand that public speaking isn’t for everyone, and we completely appreciate that living with arthritis comes with its own challenges. We encourage anyone who may be interested in becoming an Arthritis Ambassador to take some time to reflect on your own wellbeing and whether this type of activity is right for you at this time.

Recruiting Arthritis Ambassadors will be recruited at various times throughout the year. This application window closes on April 12th, and we are currently seeking applicants from the Brisbane area only.
