Sustainability Survey

The Town of Ladysmith is looking for your input to improve water conservation and reduce contaminated recycling. Items that do not belong in curbside recycling can contaminate entire truckloads of material that could have otherwise been reused. We are constantly searching for new ways and ideas to become a more sustainable community, and would love to hear your thoughts with this survey. Thank you for supporting Ladysmith’s sustainability program, we look forward to hearing from you!
Water conservation is becoming more important in the light of climate change. During the dry summer months, this is especially important, as the Town of Ladysmith relies on Holland Lake as a water source.

Contaminated recycling is a sustainability issue in the Town of Ladysmith that we are striving to reduce. Current contamination levels are at 9% and we would like to bring that down to 5%. Materials such as broken glass, plastic film, or improperly rinsed containers can contaminate entire recycling loads and result in the load being sent to the landfill instead of being recycled.
