Hosted by Oracle Cerner

In this survey, we aim to better understand your perspective on a variety of interoperability-related challenges and topics (utilizing outside clinical data, TEFCA, electronic release of information, etc.). We hope to get a sense for how your organization is exchanging data, your priorities/projects in the short and long run, and where you need support from your EHR vendor.

Question Title

* 1. Do your clinicians find it as easy to use outside data (data from HIEs, national exchange networks such as CareQuality or CommonWell, etc.) as they do the data natively stored in your EHR?

Question Title

* 2. Is your organization considering connecting as a participant or sub-participant to a network that leverages TEFCA (Trusted Exchange Framework Common Agreement) and what factors are driving or will drive your final decision?

Question Title

* 3. Please describe the factors driving your decision.

Question Title

* 4. In the last year, has your organization implemented SMART on FHIR applications either directly from a developer or from your HIT vendor’s “app store”?

Question Title

* 5. If yes, How many apps were deployed in your organization in the last 12 months? How does the technical and business experience of implementing HIT via this method compare with other methods provided by HIT vendors or developers?

Question Title

* 6. If No: What are the most significant reasons for not adopting HIT via this approach:

Question Title

* 7. How well does your current EHR vendor handle the following interoperability scenarios?

Strongly agree (5) Somewhat agree (4) Neutral (3) Somewhat disagree (2) Strongly disagree (1)
My EHR vendor retrieves external patient data from organizations with a different EHR
There is not a delay in receiving outside patient data within my workflow
My EHR vendor deduplicates allergies

My EHR vendor deduplicates procedures
My EHR vendor deduplicates immunization
My EHR vendor deduplicates laboratory results
My EHR vendor provides easy reconciliation of outside records within the clinical workflow
My EHR vendor provides an intuitive interface to view inside and outside records at the same time
My EHR vendor allows me to easily direct-write data from HIEs or national networks to my EHR to prevent my clinicians from having to perform this task.

Question Title

* 8. Rank the top five most pressing needs that will create more impactful EHR interoperability.

Question Title

* 9. Beyond normal claims data, is your organization actively considering or currently exchanging data with one or more payers directly via your EHR (not via a VBC or pop health management solution)?

Question Title

* 10. If Yes: What types of data exchanges are live or under consideration and how can your HIT vendor best support your organization with these needs?
(Examples: Clinical data exchange (CCDAs), quality supplemental data, prior authorization, gaps in care, ADT)
