Systemic Sclerosis (Scleroderma) 75 Minutes Zoom Interview $250.00 E-gift card

We are conducting interviews with about 24 people with systemic sclerosis or scleroderma. This interview study is sponsored by a pharmaceutical company that is developing a treatment for systemic sclerosis.

Individuals selected for the study will be asked to participate in a single interview with a researcher. The interview will be conducted via a web-enabled meeting platform (such as Zoom). It will last about 75 minutes. The interviewer will ask you to review some questions about systemic sclerosis that they will share on the meeting screen to get your feedback.

These questions are being tested for use in future clinical trials, and we need input from people who have systemic sclerosis.
During the interview, participants will also be asked to describe their experiences with systemic sclerosis, including their symptoms and how these symptoms affect their lives.

Participants will need to have their doctor complete and return a form to confirm their systemic sclerosis diagnosis. Each participant who qualifies for the study and is selected for an interview will receive $85 for obtaining verification of their diagnosis from their doctor and $165 for participating in an interview. In total, you will receive $250 as a token of appreciation for your time. Your doctor will also receive $140 for completing the diagnosis verification form.

Every effort will be made to protect the privacy of the participants. No participant’s identity will be shared with the company sponsoring the research. The interviews will be audio-recorded to ensure the interviewers don’t miss anything said and to help them write a report summarizing the results of the discussions. The audio recordings will be destroyed once a final report is written. Transcripts will be made from the audio recordings, but participant names and any other identifying information mentioned during the interview will be removed from the transcript. The deidentified transcripts will be shared with the pharmaceutical company sponsoring this study.
