Guidelines for Symposium
  • Symposia must be organized around a central theme and should reflect work that is presented in an integrated way
  • Symposia may be submitted in one of the two following formats:
    • Three presentations, a chair, and a discussant (90 minutes)
    • Four presentations and a chair (90 minutes)
  • Preference will be given to presentations that highlight themes relating to contemporary and compassionate approaches supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Preference will be given to presentations that include any of the following:
    • Larger scale outcomes
    • Data involving multiple particpants that demonstrate experimental control
    • Small sample sizes that contain unique contributions to the area of research
  • Submissions must be data based
  • The data do not need to be complete at time of submission; however the data must establish that there is a functional unit
  • Conference attendees are largely practitioners; therefore, presentations should emphasize meaningful areas of application
  • Within your presentation, please identify and describe any conflicts of interest or any relationship that could reasonably be constructed as a conflict of interest.
