CLIA Expedition Showcase 2026 - Svalbard

In Summer 2026, we will return to Svalbard, the World’s northernmost settlement for an Expedition Cruise event like no other.

The 2026 CLIA Expedition Showcase will take place over 4 days (24 - 27 July 2026 - with travel the days either side) in the iconic cold water expedition destination of Longyearbyen, Svalbard, one of the primary starting points of Arctic expedition cruises.

Offering delegates the opportunity to live and breathe the experiences of your expedition cruise customers, the schedule will include immersive local excursions and multiple hosted ship inspections onboard CLIA expedition operators AE Expeditions, HX Expeditions, Silversea, Ponant and Swan Hellenic.

Due to the more remote location, we have prepared a packaged bundle including return flights from London with SAS Scandinavian Airlines, airport to hotel transfers and 4-nights of accommodation (including daily breakfast) at one of two dedicated CLIA hotels.

Outbound travel day:
Departing London Heathrow the evening of Thursday 23, arriving in Svalbard the morning of Friday 24 July (with an overnight stop in Oslo)

Event dates:
4 days - Friday 24, Saturday 25, Sunday 26 & Monday 27 July

Return travel day:
Tuesday 28 July, arriving back early evening into London Heathrow

Expedition cruise will be in the spotlight throughout with inspirational business sessions and networking opportunities - putting you at the centre of the expedition cruise sector. The schedule will include two hosted lunches and two hosted evenings, also offering you free time each day and a couple of meals for you to arrange and enjoy as you wish in the destination.

Numbers will be strictly limited to ensure each attendee gets full value from their time with us and supporting operators. This is a unique chance to truly get immersed in the opportunities that expedition cruising offers. Svalbard awaits.

Please note that initial priority will be given to CLIA member agents who did not attend our Svalbard event in 2025.
EVENT COST

To calculate your event costs, please add the Event base fare (A), with your preferred Accommodation option (B) to confirm your total, keeping in mind that the Event base fare is per person.

(A) Event base fare
Including Return Flights from London with SAS & all CLIA Activities

  • Return flights (London Heathrow to Longyearbyen, via Oslo, on specified flights), travelling in SAS Go – including one checked bag of max. 23 kg
  • Airport to Hotel transfer on arrival

  • Longyearbyen Sightseeing excursion
  • Coastal Boat Tour
  • Hotel Lunches on Friday and Saturday
  • Hosted Dinner on Saturday & Farewell Dinner on Monday
  • Ship Inspections of 5 expedition vessels – including Greg Mortimer of AE Expeditions, HX Spitsbergen of HX Expeditions, Silver Endeavour of Silversea, SH Vega of Swan Hellenic and Le Commandant Charcot of Ponant
  • Hotel to Airport Return Transfer

(B) Your preferred accommodation
4-nights hotel accommodation in Svalbard

Per room costs for the 4-nights (valid for both hotels):
  • Twin or Double Occupancy - £642 per person (£1,284 total for 2 sharing) - please note CLIA are not able to match delegates for room-shares. You must apply together with your second delegate's details.
  • Solo Occupancy - £1,228 per person
  • Junior Suite (Radisson Blu Polar Hotel only, for Twin or Double Occupancy) - £664 per person (£1,328 total for 2 sharing)

Included within your Accommodation:
  • 4 nights of Hotel accommodation at one of our 2 host venues (either Radisson Blu Polar Hotel or Funken Lodge) – a choice remains subject to availability
  • Daily breakfast at your hotel

NOT INCLUDED within Event costs:
As part of your outbound flight, there is an overnight stop in Oslo, where you will require hotel accommodation at/near the Airport. This is quite usual practice for cruise guests embarking on an expedition voyage from Svalbard.

This night is not included, and is at your own expense and arrangement, however for convenience, we will shortly have a unique booking link to stay at a Scandic hotel within Oslo Airport. You are also welcome to find your own accommodation. We recommend staying at/near the airport, as it is a relatively short night with the early onward flight on Friday 24 July.

ACCOMMODATION
Included within your registration will also be 4-nights of hotel accommodation at either the Radisson Blu Polar Hotel or Funken Lodge. Event transfers will serve both hotels, and all rates include breakfast.

The two hotels are a 20-minute walk apart, so some transfers between the two will be guided on foot.
