Smart Manufacturing and Sustainable Manufacturing share the goal of manufacturing products through economically-sound processes that minimize negative environmental impacts while conserving energy and natural resources.
The goal of this survey is to benchmark current tactics pursued by manufacturers in relation to improving sustainability metrics in the ecosystem including reduction of energy consumed, reduction of carbon emissions, and support for the circular economy.
