Throughout this school year, RIDE will host community forums throughout the state to highlight the importance of key themes that came from our statewide SurveyWorks results.

The first SurveyWorks Forum will focus on social emotional learning, and will take place on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Park View Middle School in Cranston.

Come hear from a panel of school administrators, students, and community leaders on how they are supporting social emotional learning in their communities.  At this and subsequent forums, we will feature school leaders who represent some of the best practices in tackling the challenges identified by SurveyWorks, such as student anxiety. In our survey of students in grades 6 through 12, 76 percent of students reported that school is at least somewhat stressful, and 24 percent said it is extremely stressful. We will discuss this and other key social and emotional learning issues on October 10.

The forum is open to the public and we encourage parents, students, educators, community members to join us for a candid conversation.  All of the forums are free, and Spanish language interpretation services will be available as requested.
