Lottery Funds Scholarships

Purpose

These scholarship dollars are provided by the Oklahoma Education Lottery Trust Fund. Awards will be based on available funds. The primary purpose of the scholarship is to help CareerTech educators obtain their teaching credentials. Scholarships may be extended to other candidates if funding is available (see eligibility requirements below). Funding is available for up to nine credit hours per applicant.

The deadline to apply is June 9, 2026.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Oklahoma resident
  • Minimum current GPA 2.5 (or new student without a GPA)
  • Currently enrolled and attending university or college located in Oklahoma and accredited by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (Note that Pittsburg State University, the University of Phoenix, and Western Governors University are not in the state of Oklahoma and not accredited by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, and therefore do not qualify for the scholarship.)
  • Taking courses during the Summer 2026 semester only
Applicants must also fit into one of the following teaching certification/credential categories. Awards are based on available funds and prioritized by the five credential categories listed below.

1a. Full-time, provisionally certified CareerTech teacher of an approved CareerTech program working toward a degree to meet their provisional certification requirements.

1b. Full-time, alternatively certified CareerTech teacher of an approved CareerTech program taking the required 6-18 college credit hours.

1c. Full-time, certified CareerTech instructor of an approved CareerTech program working toward a degree required by a third-party accrediting body (for example, Health instructor completing degree to satisfy COARC certification requirements).

2. CareerTech system (Technology Center, Skills Center or agency) employee working toward a degree to become a full-time CareerTech Teacher.

Scholarships may be extended to applicants in categories 3-5 listed in the eligibility sections if funds are remaining:

3. CareerTech system educator seeking a degree/certification in School Counseling.

4. Full-time CareerTech system educator seeking Technology Center Administrator Credential via secondary principal or superintendent certification.

5. Any employee in the CareerTech system working toward a degree that is not required for teacher certification, such as non-teaching staff seeking a degree for career advancement, or teachers who are already certified but are seeking an advanced degree.

Instructions


To complete this application, you will need the following information:

  • Your teacher number (ONLY if you have a teaching certificate)
  • Student ID number (for each college or university attending)
  • Class number(s)
  • Class title(s)
  • Number of hours per class


The scholarship application closes June 9, 2026.

Recipients will be notified in mid July. Funds should be disbursed directly to your school's bursar account in late July or early August. Funds will not be disbursed for any course in which the recipient receives a failing grade.

After submitting the application, you will see a confirmation message. If you do not see this message, your application has not been submitted. You will also have the option to have a copy of your application emailed to you.
