Stories of South Shields

Local Heroes is collecting stories and food memories from residents and visitors of South Shields for an exciting campaign that celebrates the unique food, cultural and heritage identity of South Shields, as well as raising the profile of the Market Square, Ocean Road and Coast area as a destination for tourism.

As part of our project, we want past and present residents and visitors of South Shields to share their stories and food memories of the area. Answers can be anonymous, and it only takes 5-10 minutes to complete.

This project is part of the Destination Development Partnership (DDP) Pilot, a government-funded initiative for the North East of England, designed to boost the regional visitor economy and support sustainable growth.
