State Agency Facilitation Assessment

Facilitation Asset Assessment

This survey is being sent under the auspices of the Organizational Development for California State Government (OD4CA).  OD4CA is an in-state service organization dedicated to bringing innovative practices into California State government.  The survey is part of a larger project being led by the OD4CA to expand facilitation competencies throughout the California state government workforce.

Facilitation is a process whereby a skilled professional (i.e., the facilitator) leads or guides a group through an exploratory process to achieve some stated group objective(s).  Having more facilitators in state service is seen as a key catalyst to transforming California State Government into a highly productive institution.

This survey will establish a “baseline” assessment of the understanding and use of facilitation services in California State Government.  It will be very useful in creating and executing strategies and tactics with the objective of enhancing facilitation skills at all levels of state government.  This is seen a vital to advancing California State Government while reducing costs (i.e., using internal resources).
