Welcome to the Spring into Research application!

Please fill out all sections of this survey to apply for the spring 2018 program.

The Spring into Research Program aims to support freshmen, sophomores, and first-year transfers who are interested in pursuing undergraduate research in the humanities, arts, or social sciences. The selected participants will not be required to conduct research during the program, but will learn how to get started and tips to find a faculty mentor, along with strategies, tools, and resources available to support each stage of the research process.

All selected participants will be required to attend the six-part Cornerstone Research Workshop Series. This series covers the topics: getting started with research, developing a research question, finding sources at the UCLA library, collecting and citing sources, developing your research plan, and sharing your research.

Spring into Research participants will also complete a set of program-related assignments in conjunction with Undergraduate Research Week presentations. This year's Undergraduate Research Week takes place from May 21-25. By the end of the spring quarter, participants will also submit a research proposal for a project in the humanities, arts, or social sciences and identify and interview a prospective faculty mentor for the project.

Participants will receive a $350 scholarship at the end of the quarter upon successful completion of all program components. (Please note: If selected, the scholarship will be part of your overall financial aid package. The Financial Aid office will adjust your financial aid package to ensure that you do not exceed your financial aid eligibility.)
