The JCBC Spiritual Health Assessment

Our Chief Aim and End Game...
The chief aim and end game of the Christian life is to be more like Jesus the longer we live; to live so yielded to the power of God's love that we are gradually transformed into the very character of the God we see in the face of Jesus.
The Purpose of This Survey...
At JCBC, our mission is to make more and deeper disciples of Jesus. The purpose of this assessment is to help us understand the spiritual health of our congregation and invite you to reflect with us about where we are growing in Christlikeness, which practices and relationships are helping us grow, and where we may need additional support or opportunities for growth.

Your responses will help us recognize where God is at work and discern how we can better support one another in becoming more like Jesus and sharing the transforming love of God with the world.
Instructions
  • Respond based on your current experience, not how you think you should answer.
  • Consider your recent journey. Unless otherwise asked, think about your life as it is now and the ways you have experienced spiritual growth over the past 12 months.
  • Share openly and honestly. Your feedback will help us discern meaningful ways to strengthen our spiritual formation as a church committed to becoming more like Jesus.

Part Three: My Current Habits and Spiritual Practices
These questions seek to understand which habits and spiritual practices are most helpful in your spiritual formation journey. These practices are not to be thought of as a spiritual checklist to complete. They are not a measure of a person’s faith or worth in God's eyes. They simply serve as opportunities for growth in Christlike character.

For each practice, answer three questions:
  1. Frequency: How often do you engage in this practice?
  2. Helpfulness: How helpful has this practice been in forming character of Jesus in you?
  3. Confidence: How confident are you in your ability to engage in this practice meaningfully?

Answer honestly based on your current experience. There are no right or wrong answers. Your responses will help JCBC better understand our congregation's spiritual habits and how we can support one another in cultivating more and deeper disciples of Jesus.
