1. Introduction

Welcome to the committee of Special Olympics Unified Leaders!

The Special Olympics Unified Leaders is a group of student leaders/ young professionals on campus or in the community/with and without an intellectual disability who work towards increasing the positive impact young adults can have engaging in Special Olympics, with the goal of creating a more inclusive environment on their schools campus or local community. This committee will be comprised of young adults in college or any other post-secondary education (vocational/technical school) to continue their participation within Special Olympics after high school.

What are the responsibilities of a State Unified Leaders Committee?

- Attend scheduled meetings via conference call every 2 months and in-person every 3 months.
- Serve as an ambassador for Special Olympics Arizona.
- Use knowledge developed through the State Unified Leaders Committee to lead activation programs on your campus as well as community.
- Assist with projects such as conferences, campaigns and fundraisers.
- Represent Special Olympics by serving on other organization committees and boards.
