GAIN at Plymouth University have run seven successful Soup events since its beginnings at the University in February 2016, including lunches across the South West in Torquay, Truro and Fistral Beach, Newquay.

Soup is an international crowdfunding phenomenon that brings communities together to raise small-scale investment to kick-start new businesses or ideas. The concept is simple – the audience pays for a bowl of soup and listens to four businesses pitch their idea. The audience votes for their favourite and the business with the most votes wins all the money from the ticket sales (a minimum of £500) and a package of business support from partners such as Plymouth University and Devon Chamber of Commerce.

Pitchers are expected to prepare for a four minute pitch and up to four questions from the audience, apart from this short challenge pitchers can enjoy networking and meeting useful contacts at this lunchtime event.

If you'd like to take part please complete the short form below. The next event is part of Future Sync on the 9th June, 12 - 1.30pm on the main Plymouth University campus. Applications will close for this event on 15th May although this form will stay live for future Soup events.
