Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County leaders have announced the intent of entering into long-term contractual agreement regarding the Sorenson Campus in Salt Lake City. Both city and county leaders are taking this opportunity to evaluate the terms, and revise aspects of the agreement in order to best serve the community.
The Sorenson Campus, a vital community gathering place in the Glendale neighborhood of Salt Lake City, includes the Unity Center, Sorenson Multicultural Center, Unity Fitness Center, and Steiner West Pool. The Sorenson Campus is owned by Salt Lake City, who, for the past several years, has contracted with Salt Lake County to manage recreation, aquatic, fitness, and child care programming for the Multicultural Center and pool, while Salt Lake City has been overseeing community activities at the Unity Center.
