Petition to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves MP,
The Government's April tax rises are leading to some massive increases in business rates for local businesses in our neighbourhood and are placing an unacceptable burden on small and family businesses.
These business rates rises are hitting small businesses at the same time as the Government's swingeing Employers' National Insurance increase.
Business rates relief for small retail, hospitality and leisure businesses should not be cut from 75% to 40%.
We urge you and the Government to rethink your business rates taxation.
