About Signature Concert and Workshop Series:
The Midori & Friends Signature Series program features interactive, engaging virtual concerts and workshops that highlight the music of different cultures and diverse genres such as classical, jazz, flamenco, Bangladeshi dance, and African drumming. Performed by world-class ensembles, the program cultivates critical thinking by integrating social justice themes and cultural connections in an accessible virtual format, with both live streamed and video produced content. For an enhanced learning experience, participants can attend artist-led workshops to further explore the music's history, cultural context, and connections to NYC communities.

Midori & Friends Signature Series ensembles and artists provide positive, engaging, multi-faceted, high-quality musical experiences that nurture the development of students’ musical and collaborative skills. Midori & Friends ensembles and artists are not only fine musicians, but experienced educators who seek to enrich and inspire students through music.
Signature Series Artist Openings:
Midori & Friends is accepting applications for artists and ensembles to be added to the Signature Series Roster. For the 2020-2021 season, we are seeking applicants who are producing livestreamed and pre-recorded content on a virtual platform.
Compensation:
Midori & Friends offers competitive performance and workshop rates.
Ensemble Criteria:
Displays Artistic/Musical Excellence
Demonstrated success with school and/or community based programming
Excellent communication skills; friendly, professional, and high responsible demeanor
A well‐planned program that connects to an age‐appropriate audence
A well-planned program that links to specific cultural or socially relevant themes (e.g., climate change, racial justice, gender equality, immigrant experience)
Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality, pre-recorded and livestream content for schools and community organization audiences.
