The Role of Shame, Self-Consciousness and Disgust in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Body Dysmorphic Disorder
We are attempting to examine the role of certain emotions in Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). We are requesting your voluntary, anonymous participation in the current investigation. Specifically, you will be asked to complete a brief questionnaire packet. Please note that the packet consists of measures of shame, self-consciousness, and disgust, as well as a Demographic Questionnaire. Participation should take approximately 30 minutes. Your participation can help us expand our knowledge of both BDD and OCD and possibly impact our treatment approach.
Records of this study will be kept confidential and you will not be identified in any written or verbal reports. Your records may only be inspected by the researchers and by the human research committee at the Bio-Behavioral Institute.
The researcher performing this study has instructed you that your participation is voluntary and anonymous and that you may withdraw from the study at any time. You understand that if you refuse to participate, or if you consent and later withdraw from the study, your relationship with the Bio-Behavioral Institute and the research investigators will NOT be affected.
