Sheriff’s Office joins with Securonet for crime reduction effort

Business community participation sought to partner with Sheriff’s Office investigations.
Video data has helped solve crimes for many years and a service now available in northern Ramsey County will help investigators quickly recover video evidence when time is of the essence.

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with Securonet, LLC to assist in solving, reducing and preventing crimes through a program of voluntary registration of private security cameras. Securonet, LLC is a Minneapolis based company that integrates public and private security camera locations into a cloud based application that is easily accessible and user friendly. The registration of cameras is completely free, voluntary and secure. The Securonet Virtual Safety Network geo-maps cameras providing a streamlined process for investigators to quickly and efficiently request video when a crime has been reported.

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office will be holding four information sessions on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 to introduce the program and answer questions. To be held at the Sheriff's Patrol Station, 1411 Paul Kirkwold Drive, Arden Hills. The sessions are scheduled to start at 8:00 am, 10:00 am, 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm.

Businesses and individuals can voluntarily register their exterior facing cameras by signing up at: http://ramseyco.securonetservices.com. When video is needed it will be requested by an investigator. The Sheriff’s Office will not have remote access to these cameras unless otherwise permitted. Information about program is available on the registration website.
