USBG Palm Beach have partnered with Gonzalez Byass USA to present the Seasons of Sherry Cocktail Competition.
To ENTER: Complete the below survey and submit 4 seasonally inspired sherry cocktail recipes showcasing your ability to create unique sherry wine cocktails inspired by the seasons. These do not have to be the recipes you use for the live competition.
Entry submission DEADLINE: Monday, February 21st
SFL Live Competition: Monday, March 14th at Unit B Eatery + Spirits
Prizes:
1st: $500 + 1 Year USBG Membership
2nd: $250
3rd: $100
Cocktail Guidelines:
Must use min 1/2 oz GBUSA Sherry in each cocktail
List of eligible GB Sherries: Tio Pepe Fino, Vina AB Amontillado, Alfonso Oloroso, Leonor Palo Cortado, Cristina Medium, Solera 1847 Cream, Nectar PX
5 ingredients max (not including garnish)
All ingredients must be readily available (no homemade bitters, tinctures, shrubs)
No infusions of wines or spirits.
Simple Syrups OK (max 3 ingredients not including water and sugar)
Distilled spirits and vermouth must be GBUSA products
List of eligible GB Spirits: Fundador Brandy, Lepanto Brandy, Nomad Outland Whisky, London No1 Gin, Senorio Mezcales, Recuerdo Mezcales, Chinchon Sweet Anise, La Copa Extra Seco Vermouth, La Copa Rojo Sweet Vermouth
Recipes using a spirit from a category not offered by GBUSA are allowed (ie. Rum) but will need to be sourced by the competitor.
Cordials/ Liqueurs outside of GBUSA products are allowed. ie: Chartreuse, Apertivo, Amari, etc. and will be provided for the live competition.

LIVE COMPETITION DETAILS
Competitors will present one original seasonally inspired cocktail and one twist on the classic sherry cobbler to the judges. Maximum presentation time is 15 minutes.
Bartenders should be prepared to make 4 of each drink
Official rules and scoring guidelines will be provided upon the announcement of competitors.
Bartenders are encouraged to invite friends and family to attend.
