Eating Disorders and Self-Harm: REDS Study
Thank you for your interest in this study!
We are conducting this research project because we want to understand more about maladaptive behaviors like eating disorder behaviors and self-harm. All study participants must meet certain eligibility criteria to make sure that they can participate safely and provide meaningful data for this project.
First, please complete the following questions and provide your contact information and preferences. Some of these questions are personal in nature; however, everything disclosed is confidential and will only be shared with research staff directly involved with this study and those who regulate or sponsor this study. Completion of this survey implies consent for us to keep the information.
If you appear to meet eligibility criteria based on today’s screening, you will be contacted within the next few weeks to provide further information and to schedule a study visit. There is no compensation for completing this brief survey. However, participants who are eligible and decide to participate in the study will be compensated up to $600. The full study would include two study visits (which may take up to 2.5 hours each) at our Sanford Center for Biobehavioral Research building. These visits would consist of having your height and weight measured, completing clinical interviews, filling out questionnaires, completing a computer reaction-time task, and doing a stress test which would involve collection of saliva to measure cortisol level. The study would also involve 14 days of completing brief surveys (2-3 minutes each) throughout the day on your smartphone. If you would like to learn more about the study before completing the questions below, please contact Erika Lovaas at erika.lovaas@sanfordhealth.org or call 701-417-8718.
This survey will take approximately 5 minutes.
