Welcome to Oceanic Awards — Celebrating Excellence Without Borders

At Oceanic Awards, we proudly shine a spotlight on exceptional individuals, businesses, and communities that demonstrate outstanding achievement across industries and regions.

Each year, thousands of businesses attend our awards ceremonies, and we receive hundreds of thousands of nominations across more than 150 awards worldwide. This remarkable level of engagement reflects the credibility, reach, and prestige of Oceanic Awards recognition.

We will never charge an entry or nomination fee — and we will never ask your competitors to judge you. Simple.

Finalists are selected primarily based on votes received. In some cases, we may also identify individuals or businesses we believe deserve recognition and invite them to participate. Winners are determined through a combination of votes received, supporting evidence submitted, and due diligence carried out by our team.

While we encourage all finalists to attend the awards ceremony, attendance is not essential. Over the years, many winners have been unable to attend in person.

We understand that not everyone is familiar with how awards operate, and our role is to make the process — from nomination to potentially being selected as a winner — as straightforward, transparent, and accessible as possible.

These awards celebrate Scotland’s vibrant independent retail sector, recognising retailers with fewer than five units who consistently deliver exceptional service, creativity, and community impact. From florists to fishmongers, butchers to bakeries, we want to hear who you think deserves to be recognised for their hard work and dedication.

To be eligible as a finalist, all businesses and individuals must have been trading or in post for a minimum of 12 months.

Oceanic Awards conducts ongoing due diligence checks on all nominees and finalists. If any information provided is found to be inaccurate or misleading, nominees may be removed at any stage prior to the final awards ceremony.

The finalist list released on the day of the event is final and conclusive.
