Applying to Participate

This instrument will assist us in developing representative teams to adjust the current science credentials that are due for review. This is also an opportunity to establish a strategic plan that promotes effective teachers within the New Hampshire Department of Education credentialing system. Participants will be expected to attend minimally 2 full day meetings, preview the current requirements and critique how they support effective teaching and learning, and dialogue with other regional representatives to recommend changes to the NH Professional Standards Board. Participants will be selected based upon their experience, geographic location, and familiarity with the new NH Career & College-Ready Science Standards. These standards are also known as the Next Generation Science Standards and were adopted on November 3, 2016 by the NH Board of Education (NHBoE). Ultimately, the NHBoE will also approve the new credentialing standards which in turn influence pre-service training by our institutions of higher education. Hence, participation on this committee is vital to the future of science education in New Hampshire.
