Welcome

Complete one survey per project advancing any part of Comprehensive School Safety (Disaster Risk Reduction in the education sector). Project start date from 2010 onward.

About this survey

This survey is part of a larger research body of work to map projects that advance school safety around the world. We will map projects from not-for-profits, UN agencies, governments, and other actors implementing Disaster Risk Reduction projects in the education sector.

Why should I complete this survey?
This is the first time projects advancing school safety from Save the Children and other organisations have been mapped globally. It will create a baseline to chart the progress of projects advancing Comprehensive School Safety (CSS) around the world, as well as chart good practice and achievement. It will create a database of case studies to share learning.

Do you want to know about my organisation’s programs or projects?
This survey is focused on projects advancing school safety. We understand some of your projects may be contributing to a larger program on school safety. We ask for the program name in the survey so we can capture all of the projects making up a program.

How will you use the answer to this survey?
Your personal contact details will remain confidential. Read more about SurveyMonkey security and privacy policies. We will use the answers from this survey to:
  • Develop a global database of projects advancing school safety
  • Display the projects (through small case studies) on the World Bank: Global School Collaboration Platform http://gpss.vizzuality.com
  • Develop research reports for different audiences.
  • Draw from the mapping results for further research, program design, future collaboration and advocacy efforts.
How long will the survey take? Approximately 20 minutes.  One survey per project. There are 52 questions, however, not all of them will apply.

How do I answer the survey?
  • Have a soft copy of your project documents, including any case studies, open so you can ‘cut’ and ‘paste’ detail into the survey comments box. This will speed up the survey.
  • Select 'next' to move to the next page.
  • To return to questions you have already answered, select 'back'
  • Select 'done' when you have completed.

What project documents and materials should I share or use to 'cut' and 'paste' into the survey?

We encourage you to share your project documents, so we can create a database of school safety project documents. We will also use the documents to clarify any answers you provide in the survey, as well as develop case studies. You may also like to use the documents to ‘cut’ and ‘paste’ answers into the survey. We will use the project documents to try and answer any questions we have before we contact you.
