Welcome!

The City of Salmon Arm is reviewing and updating its Official Community Plan (OCP). An OCP sets out a broad, long-range vision for the community. It guides land use decisions and includes supporting objectives and policies for a range of topics like housing, transportation, parks, agriculture, and community services, among others.

The last OCP was adopted in 2011. Since then, much has changed in our community. The OCP Update will ensure the Plan reflects community priorities and helps us adapt to changing conditions. In early 2024, we asked for your feedback about the existing OCP. Now, we want to hear about your hopes for the future and ideas to get us there.

The feedback you share through this survey will help inform the development of the Draft OCP; along with other public and stakeholder input, technical studies and analysis, engagement with the Adams Lake Indian Band and Neskonlith Indian Band, and direction from Council.

About the survey
The survey focuses on sections of the OCP that need more substantial updates and topics that the City wants community feedback on. This includes the following topics:
  • Our Community Vision and Values
  • Housing, Infrastructure, and Growth
  • Parks, Recreation and Trails
  • Environment and Climate Change
  • Transportation and Accessibility

The survey also asks additional optional questions about several topics covered in the OCP, including:
  • Agriculture and Food Security
  • Jobs and Local Economy
  • Arts, Culture, Community, and Heritage

The survey will take between 10 and 20 minutes to complete, depending on the number of topics you choose to respond to.
