The purpose of the alumni association is to promote the professional, educational, economic, and social interests of Salem State University.

The association provides services which enlighten, strengthen and develop a unity of action among Salem State students, faculty, administration, trustees, alumni groups, and friends.

About Us
All graduates of the university are members of the alumni association. The Salem State Alumni Association Board of Directors serves on behalf of all alumni to maintain a relationship with the institution that is purposeful, reciprocal and rewarding.

Mission
To promote the educational, professional, economic, and social interests of Salem State
To foster lifelong loyalty and pride in the university
To strengthen the interaction between alumni and the student body
To develop ways to meet the changing and challenging needs of present and future alumni and the entire Salem State community

Board members are required to actively participate on board committees.

The following committees are established:

Nominations & Awards:
Assists with recruiting, selecting and screening all new board member and executive board position members running for a position on the Alumni Association Board of Directors.  Also charged with selecting the recipients of certain Alumni Association Awards and review all of the current award criteria, selection processes and nomination forms and to revise as needed.  

Scholarships & Grants:
Assists with reviewing, screening and ultimately selecting Alumni Association scholarship recipients. Also responsible for review and selection of grant recipients. 

Civic Engagement:
Responsible for Alumni Association civic engagement participation and program development

Strategic Planning:
Works with the office of alumni relations and the Alumni Association executive committee to build a comprehensive strategic plan for the association. Also oversees the annual report.

Young Alumni:
Promotes activities and programs to engage graduates of the last decade.

Development & Engagement:
Works with the office of annual giving to build a culture of philanthropy within the association and serves as a mechanism for creating new opportunities for engagement with our general alumni audience.
