What is the Safety FiRsT™ Program?
We support new ideas, practices and partnerships to strengthen the radiologic technology profession. Continuing our partnership with Toshiba, the ASRT Foundation is conducting year two of the Safety FiRsT™ program.
The program provides current ASRT members an opportunity to improve or expand their safety ideas, initiatives, or programs for medical imaging professionals in their workplace.
Safety initiatives may include: purchasing new lead aprons for the technologists, creating a training program, or any other innovative idea to improve technologist safety in the workplace.
The Safety FiRsT program will award up to two grants, of up to $7,000 each, to the recipients' institutions to implement a radiologic technology safety initiative.

Additionally, each selected institution will receive a copy of ASRT's online education, Safety Essentials, which may be shared with all employees in the department.
