Application Instructions
 
To be considered for a spot in the program, each person must apply through completing this online application. If the number of eligible applicants who apply is higher than the number we can accommodate during a single cohort, we regrettably would not be able to provide an offer of a spot in the current cohort to all eligible applicants. Only eligible applicants with completed applications will be contacted regarding next steps of the application process.

About the Program
  • Program start date: May 2, 2022
  • Program last day: July 22, 2022
  • Program duration: 12 consecutive weeks, split into two 6 week long sections (first 6 weeks = learning/training; second 6 weeks = un-paid work placement)
  • Hours of commitment: 30hours per week
  • Program format: blended (virtual and in-person; group activities, individual support, and independent activities)

Note: Provincial Training Allowance (PTA) might be available during the program. Inquire for further information.
 

Examples of content:

Career exploration; setting a job goal and creating action plans; developing targeted resumes and cover letters; marketing your skills; job search techniques; interview preparation; enhancing computer skills; obtaining short-term training/certifications, as relevant; accessing work clothing, including boots, as relevant; making employer connections and attending employer events. Might also include guest speakers, tours and resources that you can use beyond the class.
