She worked as both a Consultant and Senior Consultant at Trinity Consultants in Oakdale, Minnesota from June 2014 through August 2018, and currently works as an Advanced Environmental Engineer at 3M. Shelley has been a part of the AWMA UMS Young Professionals Committee since 2015, and presented at COE in both 2015 and 2016. Write-in Candidate: Question Title * 2. Vice-Chair Mike Westereng: Mike is an Air Permit Compliance System Owner at Flint Hills Resources’ Pine Bend Refinery. He has worked in the environmental field for 13 years, primarily focusing on air quality permitting and compliance. He has served as the Secretary for the UMS Chapter since 2016. Secretary Joe Carlson: Joe has worked as an air permit engineer for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency for the last 3.5 years, where he has been primarily involved with writing federal air permits for large stationary sources and reviewing air dispersion modeling analyses. Before his time with the State of Minnesota, he has had several roles with the Minnesota Technical Assistance Program (MnTAP) at the University of Minnesota, where he sought out opportunities for Minnesota businesses to reduce costs and environmental impacts through pollution prevention strategies. He has worked in environmental consulting for 7 years, primarily focusing on air quality permitting and compliance. He started serving as the A&WMA UMS Treasurer in 2017. Director William (Bill) Norge: Bill has been a member of AWMA for 4 years, but has been involved with air and waste management for most of his 39-year career at 3M. His career includes experience at both manufacturing facilities and the corporate offices. His 32 years at manufacturing sites provided him first-hand experience with practical application, operation, and maintenance issues associated with VOC emission control equipment and a waste to energy incinerator. This includes 35 years of experience with thermal oxidizers, 15 years with regenerative solvent recovery systems, and 10 years with biofiltration. This experience has allowed Bill to apply his knowledge globally and across different government regulations, where he regularly helps resolve environmental compliance concerns across the world.
