In accordance with the Rules of the School of Medicine, the new President-Elect must be a member of a clinical department.  (The current President-Elect, Dr. Gregary Bocsi, is a member of a basic science department, and the position of President alternates between the two.)  All members of the faculty (including faculty members based at affiliate hospitals) holding the rank of Assistant Professor or above are eligible to serve as officers.  Faculty officers are members of the Executive Committee and play a significant role in SOM decision-making.  A description of the duties and responsibilities of each faculty officer position is located on Page 12 of the Rules of the School of Medicine.  Following the nomination process, an election will be held.  All faculty members who are eligible to serve, who receive two or more nominations, and who agree to run will be placed on the ballot.  Deadline for nominations is 5:00 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2021.
