Chairs play a major role in facilitating each session, introducing the session topic, the presenters, and the titles of their individual papers. A few words about each presenter—year or class rank, university affiliation, and academic interests—can also make each session friendlier and more relaxed. Chairs promote the congenial atmosphere necessary for collaboration and discussion.
Convention planners anticipate nearly 1,000 attendees, many of them presenters or roundtable participants. Thus, your scheduling demands (unless the result of a religious observation or a medical condition) will not secure a particular session time or day unless you indicated conflicts on this submission.
