THANK YOU

Thank you for your interest in applying to present at the annual fall VAEYC conference. This years conference will be held at UVM"s Davis Center in Burlington on October 13-15.  VAEYC strives to offer the highest quality professional development and educational opportunities for early childhood educators and practitioners to enhance their ongoing work. To maintain a high level of quality, we have a rigorous conference workshop selection process.

For 2016, in collaboration with the Vermont Head Start Association, Vermont Birth to Five, the Vermont Agency of Education, and VAEYC will again extend our conference and include Saturday as a third day. The focus for this day will be on the recently updated Vermont Early Learning Standards (VELS).  There will be tracks for those who have not yet been able to learn more about VELS as well as those who have had prior training with the new set of standards.  For Saturday, we will be looking for proposals that specifically address the VELS.  Track focuses for Thursday and Friday will be determined based on the proposals we receive.
INSTRUCTIONS:

Please complete this on line submission form by April 8th, 2016.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

This year VAEYC will be pre-screening for VT-based lead presenters to be members of the VT Instructor Registry.

You must be on the Vermont Instructor Registry. Northern Lights Career Development Center is the host to the Instructor Registry and is accepting applications for an April 1st deadline. http://northernlightscdc.org/your-role/adult-instructors/instructor-registry-application/ If you are not currently on the registry, but have a complete application into Northern Lights by their April 1st deadline, we will process your workshop proposal, pending your approval to join the registry. In addition, there may be an exception made if you are an out of state, 1-time presenter.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Complete proposals from instructors on the VT instructor registry will be evaluated using selection criteria including, but not limited to:

Learning Objectives:
• are developmentally appropriate
• have a clear application to practice
• are relevant to identified conference topics
• have audience appeal/are responsive to participants' needs and interests

Workshop format is:
• interactive
• low-tech (see Audio/Visual section below)

Workshop Presenters:
• credentials and experience
• Clarity of proposal
• participant evaluations from prior VAEYC workshops (if applicable)

AUDIO/VISUAL
VAEYC strongly prefers hands-on, interactive workshops and prioritizes those workshops that support active engagement. VAEYC will limit workshops that rely heavily on PowerPoint style presentations. So, we ask, please send us your "low-tech" workshops!

COMPENSATION
The lead presenter of each workshop has a compensation package that includes a stipend and complimentary registration to that day of the conference. Co-facilitators are not eligible for compensation; stipends and registrations are given on a per workshop basis, not per presenter.
Stipends:
90-min workshop: $100
2-hr workshop: $150
3-hr workshop: $225

NOTIFICATION/CONTACT:
The lead presenter will be notified in May as to whether or not your workshop proposal has been selected for presentation.
