Métis Finger Weaving Workshop
Participants will take part in an interactive demonstration where they will learn how to weave a basic sash pattern. The workshop will be accompanied with information on the history and significance of the Métis sash. Smaller groups are ideal for this workshop.

Métis Music and Dance Workshop
Through this workshop, participants will learn about the history of Métis music and dance (fiddling and jigging), a favourite pastime among Métis people. The activities we lead include traditional Métis Red River Jigging, group dances and spoon accompaniment.

Métis Dot Art Workshop
Dot art is a contemporary art form inspired by Métis beadwork where beads are replaced with small dots of colourful paint. The Métis people are well known for their floral beadwork, which was used to decorate clothing, bags and other items. Participants will also receive an informational background on Métis art forms. Paint can be replaced by markers.

Métis Beading Workshop
Participants will be instructed on how to bead a traditional Métis flower as well as receive an informational background on Métis art forms. This workshop can take up to four hours depending on the size of the group and is recommended for participants aged 15 and up. Smaller groups are ideal for this workshop.

Métis Blanket Stich Workshop
Participants will be instructed on how to assemble a small bag with a decorative blanket stitch as well as receive an informational background on Métis art forms.
Combine this workshop with finger weaving and either beading or embroidery to create a small decorative bag with a finger-woven strap.

Métis Games
Participants are taught traditional games which were used to test the strength, balance
and endurance of Métis voyageurs during the Fur Trade.

Metis Embroidery
Participants will learn how to embroider a small design with various stitch techniques as well as receive an informational background on Métis art forms.
