Guidelines for Symposium
- Symposia must be organized around a central theme and should reflect work that is presented in an integrated way
- Symposia may be submitted in one of the two following formats:
- Three presentations, a chair, and a discussant (90 minutes)
- Four presentations and a chair (90 minutes)
- Preference will be given to presentations that highlight themes relating to contemporary and compassionate approaches supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Preference will be given to presentations that include any of the following:
- Larger scale outcomes
- Data involving multiple particpants that demonstrate experimental control
- Small sample sizes that contain unique contributions to the area of research
- Submissions must be data based
- The data do not need to be complete at time of submission; however the data must establish that there is a functional unit
- Conference attendees are largely practitioners; therefore, presentations should emphasize meaningful areas of application
- Within your presentation, please identify and describe any conflicts of interest or any relationship that could reasonably be constructed as a conflict of interest.
