Weaving mindfulness into clinical practice

Presented by: Dr. Patricia Dobkin

The two-day experiential workshop is intended for occupational therapy healthcare professionals and students who want to enhance professional resiliency and to integrate mindfulness into their clinical practice. The first day will be didactic, covering topics such as stress, burnout, and resilience.  PowerPoint presentations will be interspersed with experiential learning such as brief meditations and narrative medicine (writing) exercises. Participants will, at times, work in dyads or small groups.

The second day (optional) is for those interested in learning and deepening various meditation practices. The morning will involve a series of practices, including a lunch break where participants will be invited to eat mindfully, in silence. The afternoon will be directed at how to integrate mindfulness into hands-on clinical practice. Tools such as the Triangle of Awareness; S-T-O-P; and the 3-minute breathing space will be shared.

The CAOT Member early bird price is typically $200-275 for the one-day workshop, and $425-525 for the two-day workshop.
