The City of Mandurah is urging visitors, the community and local businesses to have their say on proposed changes to retail trading hours in Mandurah.

Early last year the Council sought clarification from the State Government on its intentions to extend retail trading hours across WA. While the State Government is developing a consistent approach on retail trading hours across the metropolitan area, non-metropolitan local governments can continue to make independent applications for variations to trading hours according to their local circumstances. After careful consideration, the Council decided to position the City competitively with other regional and tourism centres and seek local feedback from our community.

The proposed hours for Mandurah, year round, are:

• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 8am-6pm
• Thursday: 8am-9pm
• Friday: 8am-6pm
• Saturday: 8am-5pm
• Sunday: 10am-3pm
• Public Holidays: 10am-5pm.

At present, seven-day trading in Mandurah is permitted from December through to April and during school and public holidays.

The City will actively promote and advertise the proposed retail trading hours and publish information and a feedback form on its website at www.mandurah.wa.gov.au.
