LFF Deterrence: Understanding how people access sexual images and videos of children online
This is a survey about people’s access to sexual images and videos of children online, and what can help stop and change this behaviour. It is a survey conducted by Lucy Faithfull Foundation as part of our mission to prevent online harm. We’re interested in how
adults over the age of 18
access sexual images and videos of children including through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), their views on the warning messages that seek to deter them and what more can be done to block access. Completing the survey is entirely voluntary and you have the option to skip some or all of the questions below.
We know that these types of images and videos are becoming more and more available online. We would like your help in understanding how these are accessed and what might better stop people accessing them.
Throughout the survey, when we write ‘sexual images and videos of children’, we mean any content which depicts people under the age of 18 in sexually explicit or indecent ways. This could be photos, videos, drawings, and any other related, illegal content.
What will we use the data for?
Your insights and experiences will help Lucy Faithfull Foundation to improve our work in preventing harm online. We also work with partner organisations such as other charities and the National Crime Agency who work towards similar aims. The data may be shared with those organisations to enhance their work. Any data will be shared anonymously and in line with UK data protection laws.
Will my data be anonymous?
Yes. We do not want to identify anyone who responds to this survey and do not collect identifiers from internet use such as IP addresses.
In your free text responses below, make sure to not include anything that would identify you or people around you – no names, locations or other identifying information. Our Lucy Faithfull team will read through your responses to remove any identifying information before it is shared with anyone.
