Project Overview
A team of researchers from Central Queensland University (Professor Denise Wood and Professor Bruce Knight) are working with Community Services Industry Alliance in collaboration with CSIRO’s Data61 and Global Community Resourcing on a project funded by Jobs Queensland.

The aims of the project are to:
  • assess the impact of the NDIS on labour markets and skills supply across Queensland;
  • identify labour market and skills supply gaps, occupations difficult to fill, training needs, resilience, and employment growth opportunities in different regional locations where the NDIS has already been rolled out; and
  • track NDIS related workforce and skills supply changes at the Queensland regional and state level over a three-year time period.
Participation Procedure
You have been selected as an NDIS provider to participate in an anonymous online survey which includes a series of questions relating to the above aims. Your responses will assist the project team to identify NDIS related labour supply and training needs in your region. The findings will also help to inform our recommendations on strategies that may be able to assist in meeting labour and skills gaps impacting on NDIS providers and employees in your region.
Benefits and Risks
It is expected that this project may benefit NDIS providers by giving them the opportunity to discuss workforce supply and skills related gaps and training needs, and recommend strategies that may assist them to address these gaps. There is no anticipated risk to you other than the time taken (approximately 20 minutes) to complete the online survey.
Confidentiality / Anonymity
The surveys will not collect any identifying information; your responses will be anonymous. Data will be securely stored for five years after the publication date of the last publication based upon the data, in accordance with the CQUniversity Code of Conduct for Research. You can obtain a copy of this by contacting the Principal Investigator, Professor Denise Wood (see contact details below).
Outcome
The results of this research, using aggregated anonymous data, will assist training providers and organisations in understanding the jobs growth and skills needs for the NDIS and help to inform strategies for recruitment, training and organisational development. The findings will also help NDIS to identify relevant training and professional development opportunities.
Consent
Your completion of this survey indicates your consent to participate in the research study.
Right to Withdraw
Your participation in this research survey is voluntary. You may withdraw at any time prior to completing the survey simply by closing the survey window on your web browser. If you close the survey without submitting your answers, any responses already completed will not be saved and cannot be used in this research. If you wish to withdraw after submitting the survey, the information you have already provided cannot be deleted. This is because we will not be collecting any identifiable information from you and therefore, will not be able to identify your survey.
Feedback
The survey results may contribute to the findings contained in one or more of the regional NDIS workforce reports and potentially the annual workforce intelligence reports. You may also request to be emailed a copy of the research reports when they are available by adding your email address at the end of the survey (your email address will be stored separately from your survey data).
