The AHRA has teamed up with a national task force to explore the imaging technologist’s role in advanced imaging utilization using advanced protocols to include hybrid and fused imaging technologies. Such a technologist may need to possess competencies in multiple imaging modalities such as ultrasound, nuclear medicine technology, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging as well as, have an understanding of adjunctive medications and principles of respiratory and cardiac gating. Through this survey, we hope to better understand the current state and identify challenges associated with emerging advanced techniques and to explore what the future scope of practice might look like. This survey should take less than 3 minutes to complete.

Question Title

* 1. Do you employ technologists who perform advanced imaging (check all that apply)?

Question Title

* 2. How are these technologist’s trained (check all that apply)?

Question Title

* 3. As a whole, how would you describe average volume growth in the services listed in question #1 over the past two years?

Question Title

* 4. Do you feel your current advanced technologies (i.e. advanced protocol, hybrid, fusion techniques etc.) are being used to their full capabilities?

Question Title

* 5. Do you feel there is a need for an advanced level imaging specialist/technologist  role to support advancing technologies and techniques (i.e. advanced protocols, hybrid and fused imaging)?

Question Title

* 6. Should advanced curriculum(s) supporting hybrid imaging skills (i.e. cross-sectional imaging, functional
imaging, theranostics, etc.) be developed to support further technological advances?
