1. Welcome

Thank you for your willingness to help with this study on the different ways men and women experience stress and whether symptoms differ between the sexes. We hope this study will help us better identify depression and other mood disorders in men and women.

The study is being conducted by Jed Diamond, LCSW, a doctoral candidate, from the College of Health Sciences at Touro University International. You were selected as a possible participant in this study because you have an interest in men’s and women’s emotional health.

The questionnaire should take approximately 15 minutes to complete and although some of the questions touch on sensitive matters, there should be no harm in responding to them. Questions about past and present symptoms of depression, medication use, and suicidal ideation will help us better understand the nature of depression in males and females.

Although answering all questions will give us complete information, if there are any questions that make you uncomfortable and you’d prefer not to answer, feel free to skip them.

All questionnaire information provided will be completely confidential. The results of the survey will be grouped and no identifying information will be gathered or reported.
