2025 CLA Solo & Small Firm Summit
June 12-13, 2025 | VIRTUAL
2025 CLA Solo and Small Firm Summit
Build, Launch, & Grow Your Practice

The California Lawyers Association invites you to submit program proposals for the 6th Annual CLA (Virtual) Solo and Small Firm Summit. The programs should focus on new legal trends and innovative topics for a broad and diverse audience of solo and small firms.

Solo and small firms comprise the majority of attorneys throughout the state and by participating in this program, speakers are provided with the exciting opportunity to share their knowledge, educate, and inform your colleagues to “build, launch, and grow” their practice.

The Solo and Small Firm subcommittee will take into consideration the inclusion of proposed programs that involve multiple CLA sections exploring the swiftly changing legal landscapes under the new administration and entail an exciting or updated twist on an “older” topic (in terms of program format or approach), among other factors.

Deadline
The deadline to submit proposals is March 31, 2025.
Summit Background
The Solo and Small Firm Summit presents programs focused on the needs of those in a solo or small firm practice.

Education programs will be held over two days, Thursday, June 12 and Friday, June 13, 2025 starting at 9:00 AM.

Your program proposals should focus on the following three tracks of programming:

(1) The Business of Law (i.e., building your practice, building your brand, personnel/HR management, retirement and succession planning, disaster planning, client trust accounting, etc.)

(2) Technology Tips and Tricks (i.e., technology competence, cyber-security, ESI discovery, website/ADA compliance, electronic legal research, the ethics of social media, etc.)

(3) Substantive Topics with an emphasis on those areas of practice common for solo & small firms (i.e., Bankruptcy, Estate Planning, Family Law, Labor and Employment, Real Estate, and Tax)

All programs will be one hour in length. Programs are limited to three presenters, including a moderator should you choose to have one.
