The Local Chapter Advisor of the Year Award is presented to recognize outstanding education leaders who also are involved in the enhancement of the HOSA vision, mission, and goals.

Eligibility:
All active HOSA chapters are eligible to nominate their advisor(s) for the Local Chapter Advisor of the Year Award.

Award Criteria:
Strong commitment to and reputation in promoting HOSA’s vision, mission, and goals.
Establishment and maintenance of high and inclusive academic standards in the classroom, performance setting, and beyond.
Positive role modeling as a professional with deep personal integrity and high ethical standards.
Providing support to students in participating in HOSA leadership activities through the local Program of Work.

Award Selection, Notification & Recognition:
Award recipients will be selected by an Awards Committee (AC).
The judging panel will select one advisor to receive this award.
Nominators will be notified of nominees' award status in early March.
Award recipients will be recognized at the annual Missouri HOSA State Leadership Conference. If selected, the Local Chapter Advisor will be nominated for Local Advisor Recognition at the International Leadership Conference later in the summer. This will require the Local Chapter Advisor to complete an application in early May.

Guidelines:
Award nominations may be submitted by any HOSA student member, Local Chapter Advisor or other local education agency staff member.
Self-nominations are also accepted.
One letter of recommendation must accompany the completed application. The letter must be written by a HOSA student member, a Local Chapter Advisor/staff member in the nominee's school district, and/or an administrator from the nominee's school district. This letter cannot be written by the nominator.

Missouri HOSA photographers and videographers will be taking photos and video throughout the conference or event for use in any manner Missouri HOSA deems appropriate, including, but not limited to, Missouri HOSA publications, use on the Missouri HOSA website, and in connection with Competitive Events.
