Things to think about before you plant.

With the fires, drought and flooding rains, here are a few questions to ask yourself before you plant. This will help ensure that you have a successful planting.

1. Check the moisture in your soil, dig a hole and see if the soil is dry or moist. If it is bone dry hold off planting until more consistent rain.
2. If your property is fire effected wait to see what the natural regeneration response is before planting and consider postponing your planting until next spring.
3.  Refrain from planting in bushland areas and focus on planting native species as garden plants, wind breaks and erosion control.
4. Do you have the ability to water your plants when you plant them? If not wait for a rain event to give them the best chance of establishing
