Welcome!

Goal: To support innovative research projects with the highest potential to produce new knowledge and paradigms towards success in interprofessional collaboration. Projects should involve at least two and preferably more health professions. The most competitive applications will be designed as scalable projects with potential outcomes which can be broadly applied and implemented by ASAHP member institutions.

Eligibility: The Principal Investigator (PI) must be a full-time faculty in an ASAHP member institution. Applicants may serve as PI on only one grant application.

Award: 2-3 grant(s) may be awarded up to $25,000 per award. Awards will be provided for one year of support. The number of grants and grant amount awarded will ultimately depend on the quality, potential outcome(s) and total cost. Funds cannot be used for indirect costs or F&A. Grant funds may be used for ASAHP Annual Conference travel and registration but may not exceed $2,000. Conference travel and registration funding would be included in the total proposal budget.

Deadline: Applications must be received via electronic submission to the Association of School Advancing Health Professions by 8:00pm ET on June 15, 2022. Proposals received by the deadline will be reviewed by a committee of educational researchers.

Proposal (criteria & guidelines): Applications that do not follow these guidelines will not be reviewed. Proposals that include two or more ASAHP member institutions are acceptable. Proposals should not exceed five (5) pages and should be organized as follows:
  1. Background & significance: Include a testable hypothesis and/or the theoretical framework or conceptual model to be utilized. Concisely state the research problem to be addressed.
  2. Research plan: Outline the specific aims of the proposed research, the experimental approaches to be taken, data analyses, and expected outcomes. Note: Preliminary data are not requisite, but could be used to strengthen a proposal.
  3. Milestones: List two to three specific milestones to be accomplished by the end of the 12-month funding period (September 1, 2022 - August 30, 2023)
  4. PI assurance: Include a statement from the PI that they have sufficient time and local support and will make the funded study a high priority, pursue it aggressively, and only use the funds for the proposed research.
  5. Interprofessional team: Provide a description of the interprofessional team, including the role of each faculty team member and how the team will collaborate on the project.
Budget & References
Budget: provide itemized budget with brief justification (limited to one to two sentences) for each item. Funds cannot be used for faculty salary support but can provide funding for technical support personnel.
