CLASSROOM REQUIREMENTS

20.I understand that SPARK will duplicate and distribute any handouts I have for my class. This includes Zoom participants if applicable.(Required.)
21.I understand that SPARK needs a minimum of 2 business days prior to class to duplicate them for distribution in person and on Zoom if applicable. I should email my handout to SPARK@umkc.edu.(Required.)
22.I understand that SPARK will market my class online, through email and by mailing a catalog using USPS. I am encouraged to promote my class in my circle of influence with the understanding that those taking any SPARK class must pay the class and membership fees.(Required.)

Zoom Classes (Skip questions 25-27 if teaching In-person only)
25.I understand that if my class has a Zoom component, I must bring my presentation to the SPARK classroom on a USB drive in PowerPoint format to effectively use the smart classroom technology.
26.I understand that if my class has a Zoom component, SPARK will set up the Zoom Classroom. SPARK will advise me regarding microphones, the camera zone and giving context for questions asked in person.
27.I understand that if my class has a Zoom component, SPARK will record the class and make it available via an unlisted YouTube link to those enrolled in the class. (This option is not available for in-person only classes)
In-person only classes (Skip Questions 28 & 29 if class has a Zoom Component)
28.I understand that if my class is in-person only, I may use my personal device to project on the classroom screen. It is my responsibility to ensure that I have an HDMI port on my device or that I bring my own adaptor to connect to the HDMI cable.

SPARK's RESPONSIBILITIES
30.I understand that SPARK will be responsible for the following.
  • Providing classroom space to accommodate all in-person attendees.
  • Setting up a Zoom classroom if needed and distributing the link to those enrolled in the class.
  • Preparing an enrollment roster used to take attendance.
  • Providing parking instructions to me.
  • Responding to questions and concerns during scheduled business hours.

31.SPARK and I acknowledge and agree that teaching for SPARK does not make me a UMKC or SPARK employee. I am acting as an independent contractor.(Required.)
32.If I am a current SPARK or UMKC employees, I acknowledge that teaching for SPARK is outside of my regular duties and I am responsible for following any guidelines set fourth by my supervisor.
